Write To Fight: Fever Dreams

This verse is based on the concept of dreaming over living. Sometimes it’s easier to imagine the life you want to live instead of going out and risking your comfort. In a dream, you can live out your fantasies and avoid the complications of reality.

Hold me up a little bit longer

Tonight I don’t want to be stronger

Than I have to be

It’s your turn to do the saving

Even if it’s only for a second

I’ll close my eyes and take the lie

I’ll pretend that you meant it

Because that’s what I do for myself

I pretend that you’re somebody else

For me this is the easiest option

I’ve fallen in love with the thoughts that I’m lost in

Honestly, it’s not the best for me

But my fallacy and fever dreams

leave no room for reality

In my mind we can be what we want to be

We can travel the world or sail all she seven seas

Come on, let’s skip all the formalities

We fell in love and a part

100 time before we had the chance to speak

The society we live in tends to push toward the idea that we all need to find someone. Many people think this means we should push the problems aside that we face in relationships and pretend our situations are better than it really is. I force myself to believe this is not the case, but I still get caught up in the idea. I tend to dream about the love I could have had and daydream about taking chances with the people I care about. It’s a constant battle between my morale values and the event they’re wrong.

With verses I write that are this close to home, I usually find some form of closure and complete the song. Keep an eye out for a future post!
